How We Met
It all began with a follow on Instagram. Who knew it would lead us here, saying ‘I do’ across oceans?
Our First Meeting
After years of knowing each other from afar, Ruben overcame his fear of flying and came to Bali on September 3, 2023. In Ubud, we found more than just a place that feels like home. Meeting in person felt as natural as our countless chats and video calls.
Meeting Ruben's family
Our love story took us to the Netherlands, where Angie met Ruben’s family, danced at his sister’s wedding, and experienced her very first snow in the crisp winter cold. We spent our very first Christmas and New Year as a couple wrapped in that magical season.
Meeting Angie's family
A year later, that adventure continued in Yogyakarta, where Ruben met Angie’s family, joined her sister’s wedding and went on a family trip to Mount Merapi. We explored the streets and places she had called home for years.
The Proposal
A year after meeting for the first time, we stood beneath Merapi volcano. With the earth still trembling from a recent earthquake, Ruben knelt down and made the day one we will never forget.
Wedding Preparations
Ruben came back to Bali in August 2025 and we continue planning our wedding that we had begun over countless video calls. Wearing Balinese traditional attire, we captured our pre-wedding moments and once again stayed in Ubud, the place where it all started.
Live Streaming
For our beloved family and friends who cannot attend in person, we warmly invite you to join us through our live streaming at
Our dream is to celebrate this special day with you in Indonesia. We know the journey is far and may take preparation, so we would love to hear from you. If you already know you cannot attend, please let us know. If you are still considering, kindly RSVP by November 12, 2025. Your presence would mean the world to us.
Your company is the gift we love the most, but if you’d like, help us build memories (or maybe a home) together.
